Men's Soccer Drops Spirited Contest to Colgate in 2OT

WASHINGTON — Despite Antonio Ducrot's 109th minute goal to lift Colgate over American 1-0 on Saturday, the American University men's soccer team played with poise and challenged the Raiders on Saturday at Reeves Field.

Postgame Notes
  • In the 65th minute, American had its best chances to score when Nick Dimitrijevic hit the post followed by Jack Green's attempt that was stopped by Colgate keeper Jacob Harris.
  • On the defensive end, American also pressured the Raiders and held them off the board with a right arm save by Jake Agnew in the 81st minute on Mason Miller.
  • In the first OT, Matt Gillis sprung open with a shot that was drilled into Harris' chest.
  • Colgate nearly ended the contest in the final seconds of the first overtime but Agnew stood tall on Bobby Foose's attempt as the clock expired.
  •  Colagte's goal sequence started with a corner kick that went beyond the far post before it was ushered back to the center of the net by Christian Clark. Agnew made a stop on the initial shot by Edward Bass before it was tapped in by Ducrot.
  • Agnew finished the contest with five saves.
