Women's Results
The American University men's and women's cross country teams
competed on Saturday morning at the Navy Cross Country Invite in
Annapolis, Md. The teams took on a field that included
regional foes George Washington, Loyola-Maryland, and Morgan State,
as well as conference rival Navy.
The men's team finished 2nd overall and were led by
sophomore Ryan
Williams who impressed in his first career 8K race in
an American singlet. Williams placed 9th overall in a
time of 25:17.80. Also scoring in the meet for the Eagles
were juniors Jeff
Brannigan and Colin
Eustis, who finished 14th and
18th, respectively, as well as freshman Mark
Leininger (20th) and sophomore Josh
Olsen (21st).
On the women's side, the Eagles were led by sophomore standout
Octavia
Rinehardt who finished 5th overall with a
time of 22:47.21. Joining Rinehardt were seniors Greta
Wicklund (30th) and Rachel
Forcino (42nd), along with freshman Natalie
Omundson (48th) and sophomore Lauren
Scholl (54th).
The men's and women's cross country teams now have a week off from
competition before heading down to Williamsburg, Va., For the
William & Mary Inter-Regional on September 26th.
