WASHINGTON -
The American University men's basketball team will play in 10 televised regular season games during the 2008-09 season, including two contests to be aired on the ESPN family of networks.
Six of AU's 10 televised games will come during Patriot League play, beginning with an ESPNU broadcast of American's first meeting with Holy Cross on January 24th in Worcester, Mass. American will also appear on ESPNU on February 14th against Colgate in a rematch of last year's PL Championship game at home.
AU's TV schedule begins this Monday at 9 p.m. with MASN's coverage of the team's December 1st home game against Mount St. Mary's. MASN will also air the Eagles' December 6th game at Georgetown, December 20th game at UMBC, January 17th game at Colgate, February 7th game at Lehigh and American's final regular season game on February 28th at Lafayette. Comcast SportsNet will air the team's December 22nd game at Maryland. Last year, the Eagles upset the Terps on the same date in College Park, Md.
The Eagles' final regular season home game on February 25th against Navy will be broadcast to a national audience on CBS College Sports.
The AU women's basketball team will also be featured on a national television broadcast this season. ESPNU will air the Eagles' February 7th home game against Lehigh.
