Professional volleyballer M'Kaela White joined Ahen Kim's coaching staff at American University in the summer of 2023 as an assistant coach. White has played with three pro teams overseas in Finland, Italy and Romania, and spent the 2024 season with the Orlando Valkyries of the Pro Volleyball Federation.

In her collegiate days, White was a two-time All-CAA First Team selection at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va. She was an ACVA honorable mention pick in 2018, named to the USAV college national team in 2018, and picked as a first team selection in the Colonial Athletic Conference in both 2018 and 2019. White was also a three-time VaSID All-State First Team pick.

White played for LP Viesti (Finland) in 2021, for VBC Casalmaggiore (Italy) in 2021-22 and for CSO Voluntari (Romania) in 2022-23.

The Orlando Valkyries announced in July of 2024 that White would be back for the 2025 season. She appeared in all 24 matches in 2024 and played 89 sets, third most on the Valkyries. She did it all for Orlando in the team’s inaugural season, finishing in the top 10 in three statistical categories across the Pro Volleyball Federation. She ranked seventh in hitting percentage (0.306) and blocks (50), and eighth in kill percentage (0.399).

In 2020, White graduated from James Madison with a degree in sport and recreation management.
