Billy Hubbert joined the American University volleyball staff as an assistant coach in August 2025. An AU alum, Hubbert graduated from the University just three months earlier.
Hubbert previously served as a practice player with the program for two seasons, including head coach Ahen Kim’s first two seasons with the Eagles, while wrapping up his bachelor's degree in finance.
From 2021-2025, Hubbert was an active four-year member of AU Men’s Club Volleyball, where he helped drive the Eagles to multiple top-bracket finishes over three consecutive years at NCVF Nationals.Â
Prior to coaching at AU, Hubbert served as an assistant coach at Metro Volleyball Club of DC and Sidwell Friends Upper School. A native of La Verne, California, Hubbert was also a men's and women’s beach volleyball coach at Pulse Athletics Volleyball in Anaheim.
