Christie Rogers joined Coach Coll's staff at American in August 2024 by way of Towson University. During her time with the Tigers, Rogers played a pivotal role in the program's success. In June 2022, she was appointed as a Special Assistant to the Women’s Basketball Head Coach, contributing to Towson’s remarkable 21-12 season and securing a share of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) regular-season title for the first time in program history. Under her guidance, the Tigers reached the CAA title game and earned a second consecutive trip to the WNIT.
Rogers’ coaching career is marked by significant achievements across multiple programs. At Coppin State University, she served as the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach for the 2021-2022 season, helping the team achieve a remarkable turnaround from two to 15 wins. During her tenure, she coached standout players, including MEAC Player of the Year Jaia Alexander and First Team All-Conference guard Aliyah Lawson.
Her impact was equally felt at UMBC, where she was the Women’s Basketball Assistant Coach/Offensive Coordinator during the 2019-2020 season. She played a key role in improving the Retrievers’ performance, helping the team double their conference wins from the previous season and leading them to a top-three finish in conference field goal percentage.
Rogers also brings with her a wealth of experience from Radford University, where she served as the Women’s Basketball Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator from 2016-2019. Her efforts helped the Highlanders secure two Big South regular-season championships and a tournament championship during her tenure. She also coached First Team All-Conference guard Destinee Walker and contributed to the team’s nationally ranked defense.
Before her time at Radford, Rogers held coaching positions at Towson University (2012-2016), Winthrop University (2011-2012), and Clemson University (2009-2011). At Winthrop, she was part of a record-breaking season, contributing to over 45 team records and coaching the nation’s leading three-point shooter and Big South Player of the Year.
Rogers’ diverse experience also includes her time as an intern for the Washington Mystics, where she gained valuable insight into the professional basketball world, assisting coaches and preparing scouting reports.
Rogers graduated from Washington College in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, where she was a starting point guard and captain of the women’s basketball team for three years. She went on to earn her Master of Science in Youth Development Leadership from Clemson University.
