2022-23 (Graduate Student): Appeared in 19 games as a graduate student…Made his first appearance of the season on Dec. 22 in American's game against Siena…Recorded a season-high eight point against Army West Point, going 2-of-2 from beyond the arc and 2-of-2 from the free throw line (1/15) and in American’s home Patriot League Opener against Loyola Maryland also going 2-of-2 from beyond the arc and 2-of-2 from the free throw line (1/2)…Notched a season-high three rebounds at Navy in the Eagles’ Patriot League Quarterfinal win over the Midshipmen (3/2).
2021-22 (Senior): Started all 15 games he appeared in before missing final month of season due to injury… Led team in free-throw percentage (80.0 percent)… Season-high eight rebounds and three steals against Holy Cross (1/26)... Hit 7-of-10 shots from beyond the arc, scoring career-high 23 points against Loyola Maryland (1/22)... 3-point field goal percentage against Greyhounds (70 percent) ranks second in program history... 10 points and two steals at Army (1/19)... 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting against Mount St. Mary's (12/11), adding three steals... 12 points and seven rebounds in win over Saint Francis (PA) (12/8)... 11 points on 5-of-8 from the field and six rebounds in win at William & Mary (11/12)... Season-high four assists in PL Quarterfinals at Army (3/6)... Season-high 12 points on 5-of-10 shooting vs Bucknell (2/28)... Only AU player to reach double-digits in rebounding in 2021 with career-best 12 boards at Bucknell, adding three steals (2/27)... Set then career-high with eight rebounds against Navy (2/21)... Scored eight points and added two blocks versus Navy (2/20)... Led team defensively with career-best six steals against Loyola (1/24)... also led team with seven rebounds versus Greyhounds... 2019-20 (Sophomore): Patriot League Academic Honor Roll... Saw action in 30 games for American, starting final nine of season... Set new season-high with seven field goals in win over Lafayette (2/26)... Scored 16 points and dished team-high four assists against Leopards... Picked up 10 points and matched a career-high with seven rebounds against Boston (2/23)... Played in 38 minutes against Bucknell (2/15), dishing a career-high six assists and matching a career-high with four steals... Scored 13 points and nabbed three steals against Loyola (2/12) ... Scored 17 points on 5-of-7 shooting from deep in his second start of the season against Army (2/8)... 2018-19 (Freshman at Wyoming Central CC): Played one season for head coach Brad Schmit and the Rustlers… Averaged 13.4 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 18 games… Scored a season-best 22 points against Eastern Wyoming College on Feb. 9… Scored 20 or more points three times and had 10 or more points 13 times.
Prep: Played one season at Impact Academy in Las Vegas… Played in four games before a season-ending injury.
High School: Played three years at Denver South for Malik Fletcher… Averaged 11.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.3 steals per in 65 career games for the Rebels… Ranked as the 59th best player in Colorado in the Class of 2017.
Personal: Majoring in psychology... Son of Joe Nelson and Anne McDonald … Has one sister, Janna… His dad played soccer at Notre Dame.
