Coach Sam Roditti is no longer at American University as of May, 2023.

After four years with the program in the role of director of operations, American University alumnus Sam Roditti (SOC ’17) was announced as an assistant coach for Mike Brennan's men's basketball staff in May, 2022.

Roditti first joined the full-time staff in 2018 and spent four years as the director of operations. In that role, he played a major part in assisting the coaching staff with practice plans and was the program's lead travel liaison.

A 2017 graduate of American University with a degree in public communications and a minor in leadership and management, Roditti returned to the AU sidelines after a year as a graduate assistant at Long Beach State.

In his one season with the 49ers under head coach Dan Monson, Roditti was responsible for leading individual workouts and coordinating team workouts with the coaching staff. Roditti was also tasked with assisting in team film and scouting.

While in undergrad at American, Roditti served as a team manager (2013-2017) and took over as the head manager his junior year. In his role, Roditti obtained coaching strategies from Coach Brennan while assisting the director of basketball operations with travel plans, meals and hotel preparations.

Roditti got his first coaching assignment at the AAU level with the EBA Pharaohs in Sacramento, California.

Roditti resides in Washington, D.C., and is currently pursuing his master's degree in sports management.
