Noor Coenan was named volunteer assistant coach to Steve Jennings’ staff in August of 2023. Coenan, a 2022 graduate of American University, played for five years under Jennings from 2017-2021, helping lead the team to two undefeated Patriot Leagues seasons (2019, 2021) and claiming the Patriot League Championship twice (2019, 2021).
One of the most decorated players in the program’s recent history, Noor was a three-time member of the NFHCA Second Team All-American (2019, 2020-21, 2021). She was also named to the NFHCA D1 Senior Team in 2021. She was on the NFHCA First Team All-Region for years in a row (2018, 2019, 2020-21, 2021) and a member of the NFHCA Second Team All-Region in 2017 as a freshman.
She also raked in Patriot League accolades as well. In her five-year tenure, Noor was named to the All-League First Team all five years and was named to the League’s All-Tournament team in both 2019 and 2021; in 2019, she was also named the PL Tournament MVP. In 2017, Coenan was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Year and she was twice named the League’s Offensive Player of the Year (2019, 2020-21).
Coenan is a native of Naarden in the Netherlands. She is the daughter of Desiree and Frans, Noor spent some time volunteering in Nepal and helped with several schools, including painting an orphanage in her time before college.
