The American University Cheer Team serves as an ambassador of the University and promotes school spirit and community at all times. The program participates at all men's and women's home basketball games, competes at NCA College Nationals, and supports the University Athletics Department in all endeavors as requested by the University.
The Cheer Team will hold fall tryouts for the 2026-27 season in Bender Arena on Sunday, August 30th. Registration begins at 9:00 AM and tryouts begin at 9:30 AM. Please wear a black top, black bottoms, and cheer shoes with gameday hair and makeup. Bring a water bottle, your AU ID, your health insurance card, and proof of a completed sports physical between May 1st and the date of tryouts.
