BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The American University volleyball team couldn't find an attacking rhythm against Arkansas State on Saturday, falling in four sets after hitting .116 on the day. With the loss, the Eagles drop to 3-3 in the early stages of the season.

Set 1
- It was a difficult first set for the Eagles, who hit just .147 and committed six attacking errors.
- The Red Wolves got out to a 7-0 lead and never lost it, winning 25-16
Set 2
- The Eagles stayed within striking distance of Arkansas State for the majority of the second set, but again the Red Wolves were able to command the game after taking an early lead.
- Sterling and Hollas both got into a rhythm, notching four kills each.
- The turning point came when A-State led 16-13 and spurted for a 9-5 run, closing the set in commanding fashion to win it 25-18.
Set 3
- AU came out on top of the tightest set of the match, taking it 25-23. There were 11 lead changes throughout.
- Hollas led American with four kills, with McMillan adding three.
- The Eagles trailed 20-18, but went back in front after a kill from Sydney Guerrier and two A-State errors.
- With the score eventually tied at 23, Hollas delivered the final two kills to seal the win.
Set 4
- The Red Wolves closed the door in the fourth set, winning in 25-14.
- AU had a 9-7 lead early, but A-State dominated the second of the frame with an 18-5 run.
- The Eagles hit just .030.
