BOSTON - Multiple lead changes and a tense final stretch defined the afternoon at Boston University, where American University men's basketball emerged with a 64–62 road win. After building a 16-point first-half advantage and later trailing by as many as five, the Eagles finished strong to remain unbeaten in Patriot League play. Junior
Greg Jones led four players in double figures as AU earned its first road win and first win at BU since 2019.

- American's last win at BU came back in 2019, and the Terriers had not lost a conference game at home since the 2023-24 season.
- Jones hit 6-of-7 from the field including 2-of-2 from long range on his way to leading the Eagles with 16 points.
- Sophomore Julen Iturbe made 5-of-8 shots for 14 points, and freshman Madden Collins went 5-of-5 at the free-throw line on his way to a 13-point outing.
- Collins added a team-high seven rebounds, and junior Matt Mayock dished a game-high seven assists.
- With a 4-of-7 performance from three-point range, senior Geoff Sprouse finished with 12 points and now stands just four triples away from tying for fifth all-time at American in career three-pointers, currently with 174.
First Half
- After an early free throw put the Terriers up 1-0, Jones hit his first bucket of the game and AU never trailed again in the half.
- The Eagles hit six of their first nine attempts from long range while BU went just 1-for-8 in that same span. Jones and Sprouse each hit a pair of three-pointers, helping AU take a 26-10 lead at the nine-minute mark.
- The lead was 11 for AU with two and a half minutes to go before the Terriers closed the half on a 7-2 run.
- AU's only points in the final two minutes were a pair of free throws for Collins, but the Eagles took a 38-32 lead into the break.
- Seven players scored in the first half for AU, led by Jones with 10 points and Collins with nine.
Second Half
- AU's eight-point halftime lead disappeared quickly, as the Eagles went scoreless for more than five minutes to open the second half.
- Boston University used an 8-0 run to take the lead before Collins ended the 0-for-7 drought with a layup that tied the game at 40-40 with 14:46 remaining.
- The Eagles later trailed by as many as five, falling behind 49-44 at the 10:46 mark.
- Sprouse capped a 7-0 AU run with a three-pointer to put the Eagles back in front, 51-49, at 9:11, though the Terriers briefly regained the lead.
- Trailing 54-53, Jones knocked down a jumper at 6:39 to give AU the lead for good.
- After Iturbe's three made it 62-57 with 4:21 left, both teams went scoreless for more than two minutes.
- BU's Chance Gladden converted a three-point play with 18 seconds remaining to pull the Terriers within two.
- AU came up empty on the ensuing inbounds play and was forced into a jump ball, but BU missed the potential go-ahead three.
- Forced to foul, the Terriers got one final opportunity after Jones missed a free throw, but BU's last-second attempt came up short.
