WASHINGTON - The American University wrestling team was defeated by Navy on Saturday night at the Meltzer Center, 34-3. In the loss, #16 Maximilian Leete won his 12^th match of the season and the graduate senior moved just one win shy of 70 in his career.

Notable 

• After JJ Peace fell 2-1 at 125, Maximilian Leete got AU on the board with a decision over Brenden Ferretti. He grabbed the lead early with a first period takedown, then closed the door with another in the third period to seal it 7-2.
• It was Leete's 69^th career victory and 29^th dual win, tying him for 16^th in program history the latter category. 
• Gage Owen battled with Kaemen Smith at 149, but came up short in overtime. Tied 2-2 after regulation, Smith landed a takedown just under a minute in. 
• American is now 5-8 overall and 1-3 in EIWA duals.
