WASHINGTON - For his efforts in leading American University men's basketball to wins over Navy and Army in a 2-0 week, junior Greg Jones has been named the Eagle of the Week for AU Athletics, presented by Gregorio's. Jones averaged 19.5 points per game and and 6.5 rebounds per game for American.

In a 65-51 win over Patriot League-leading Navy, Jones led all players with 23 points, hitting 5-of-6 free throws and adding seven rebounds. Later in the week, Jones scored 16 points at Army on 4-of-7 shooting from the field and 6-of-8 makes at the line. Jones has reached double digits in scoring in six of the last seven games, and is now tied for the team lead with 12.6 points per game this season.

The Eagles are back in action at home on Wednesday, Jan. 21 against Colgate at 7 p.m.
