WASHINGTON - Dominant performances in two 3-0 sweeps for American University volleyball have earned freshman Sophie Dufour Eagle of the Week honors for the week of Sept. 22-28. The Eagles, at 10-4 overall, have won three straight and are tied for second in the Patriot League at 3-1.

Dufour posted nine kills and seven digs in a sweep of Navy on Sept. 26, hitting .333 and serving up three aces. Two days later, she turned it up a notch with an impressive double-double performance of 16 kills and 10 digs in just three sets at Loyola Maryland, serving up two more aces for a total of 18 points.

The Eagles will play two more road matches next weekend, heading to Bucknell on Oct. 4 and to Lehigh on Oct. 4.
