Volleyball's Salme Adeele Hollas Named Eagle of the Week

WASHINGTON - After helping lead American University volleyball to a perfect, 3-0 start to the season, sophomore transfer Salme Adeele Hollas has been named the Eagle of the Week for the week of August 25-31. The Eagles began the 2025 campaign by defeating local rivals George Mason, Georgetown, and George Washington.

Hollas averaged 4.33 kills per set to not only lead the team, but all players in the Patriot League so far. Her 4.83 points per set also ranks first, and her hitting percentage of .323 ranks fourth in the league. In a 3-1 win over George Washington, Hollas posted 22 kills and hit .385. She was also the kill leader in AU's 3-0 sweep of Georgetown with 17 kills.

The Eagles will look for another home win on Tuesday, Sept. 2, as they host the University of Maryland Eastern Shore at 1 p.m. in Bender Arena.
