WASHINGTON - Graduate student Jennifer McGuire, a forward for women's soccer, has been named the first Eagle of the Week for the 2025-26 school year. McGuire helped the Eagles finish in a 1-1 draw against VCU in their only game of the week.

In the 18th minute of American's home game against the Rams, McGuire collected a long pass from senior Eliza Fisher and sent it left-footed into the bottom right corner of the net. The goal for McGuire was the third of her career, and first of the season.

The Eagles are back in action at home on Thursday, Aug. 28 at 1 p.m. against Howard.
