  • The Eagles shared the ball well this afternoon, with nine of AU's 18 goals assisted and 11 different players finding the back of the net.
  • Senior Maddy Spratt paired her three goals with three assists to lead the Eagles with six points, while junior Kellie Linehan also recorded a hat trick and senior Becca Frank tallied three assists.
  • Annabelle Jackson, Alyssa Apuzzo, and Reagan Murdoch all scored a pair of goals. Apuzzo added two assists and Jackson dished out one of her own.
  • All three AU goalkeepers stood between the posts for the Eagles today. Senior Caleigh Forti made five saves as the starting goalie before she was relieved by fellow senior Lexi Rakis, who also made five saves. Maryanne Harris made her collegiate debut in relief of Rakis in the fourth quarter and picked up her first collegiate save.
  • Murdoch led the team with four draw controls, contributing to AU's 14 total on the day.
  • Freshman Anastasia Byrnes scored her first collegiate goal in the game's final seconds, and Aine Powers picked up her first collegiate assist.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • AU was comfortable in the attacking end from the jump, scoring just over a minute in off a connection between Becca Frank and Maddy Spratt
  • After giving up their first goal to Howard to make the score 2-1 at the 9:27 mark, the Eagles rattled off seven unanswered goals to make the score 9-1 early in the second quarter. Spratt and Apuzzo both had two goals and two assists on the 7-0 run.
  • After the Bison chipped away at the AU lead to make the score 10-5 going into halftime, it was all Eagles in the second half. Kellie Linehan got her team back on track with a goal less than a minute in to the third quarter, followed by tallies from Reagan Murdoch, Annabelle Jackson, Elly Skeels, Kristen Hegarty, and one more form Linehan.
  • The 6-0 run ended when Leah Croom scored for Howard early in the fourth quarter, but AU pushed forward for two more goals from Camryn Kowalewski and Anastasia Byrnes
