WASHINGTON – A red hot first quarter was enough for the William & Mary Tribe to secure the win over the American University women's basketball in a December clash at Bender Arena.
Inside the Box Score
- Three Eagles put up double digit point totals: senior Anna Rescifina with 13, sophomore Madisyn Moore-Nicholson with 12, and sophomore Elizabeth Archer with 11.
- The Eagles' offense was riddled with turnovers; they committed 18 compared to 12 by the Tribe.
- William & Mary had their way down low, with 44 points in the paint versus 24 for American.
- The visitors saw significant help from their bench, outscoring AU's 28-13.
- The Eagles shot significantly better from the line compared to last game against Drexel, making seven out of nine attempts.

- The third quarter was an even display on competition from both teams, with the Tribe having a slight advantage in field goal percentage by 4.4 percent and the Eagles having a slight advantage in rebounds (9-8), improving on the first half.
- AU started the fourth quarter with two made threes by Rescifina and Moore-Nicholson to cut the Tribe's lead down to 12, but after that, the Eagles were scoreless for nearly five minutes, shooting 1-11 from the field during that span.
