WASHINGTON - Leading American University women's basketball with 17.0 points per game in a 1-1 week, sophomore Madisyn Moore-Nicholson has been named the Eagle of the Week for AU Athletics. She matched her-career high of 20 points in American's win over UMBC on Dec. 21.

Moore-Nicholson posted back-to-back double-digit scoring games, posting 14 to lead the Eagles in a game at VCU, and tying for game-high honors with her 20 points against UMBC. The sophomore played 35 and 36 minutes in those games for the Eagles, contributing four assists against UMBC and two steals in each of the Eagles' games across the week. She averaged five rebounds per contest, and hit 8-of-13 from the field against UMBC including a pair of three-pointers.

The Eagles will be back in action on Dec. 31, heading to Loyola Maryland for their Patriot League opener.
