BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Two members of the Academic All-Patriot League Team for women's soccer are from American University, with both Avery Klingensmith and Addison Roemer earning the honor following the 2025 season. It's the second such award for Klingensmith, and the first for Roemer in her first eligible season.

Klingensmith, a 2025 All-Patriot League Second Team honoree, was also named to the Academic All-PL Team in 2024. The senior midfielder is a double major in American Government and Justice & Law who earned a 4.0 grade-point average in the fall of 2024 and the spring of 2025, with a 3.98 GPA overall. Klingensmith led the team with four goals in 2025 and tied for the team lead with 10 total points. She played in all 17 games with 16 starts this season, and had 10 games with 90 minutes played. Klingensmith led the Eagles with two game-winning goals, posting the deciding tally in both a 3-1 win over Lehigh and in a 2-1 win at Bucknell, converting a penalty kick in the final minute to close out her career.

Roemer, a sophomore, is a public health major with a 3.95 GPA. She played in 15 games with 14 starts this season, and led the Patriot League with 6.00 saves per game. She made a career-high 12 saves in a dramatic, 2-1 win over Army, and made 10 saves in a 0-0 draw at George Mason. Roemer finished the season with a nine-save effort in a 2-1 win at Bucknell.
