Women's Soccer's Avery Klingensmith Earns All-Patriot League Second Team Honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - To cap a standout senior season and an impressive four-year career at American University, women's soccer's Avery Klingensmith has been named to the All-Patriot League Second Team. It marks her first career all-league honor after being a force for AU both on and off the field.

Klingensmith led the Eagles with four goals this season, and tied for the team lead with 10 total points. She played in all 17 games with 16 starts, and posted 10 games with all 90 minutes played.

Two of three Patriot League game-winners for the Eagles were scored by Klingensmith, who got the winner in a 3-1 victory over Lehigh at home, and a penalty-kick winner in a 2-1 decision at Bucknell to close out her career. Off the field, Klingensmith was a 2024 PL Academic All-League Team selection, earned a 4.0 GPA in the fall of 2024 and spring of 2025, and earned AU's student-athlete School of Public Affairs Award as a junior.
