Series History
  • The Eagles are 3-6-3 against BU all-time, and have not defeated the Terriers since 2016.
  • The teams shared a 2-2 draw in Boston in 2024. AU was two minutes from a victory with a 2-1 lead, but a late goal from Aidan Bone knotted the score.
What to Know About American: 5-7-1 (4-1)
  • The Eagles are coming off a 2-0 loss to #3 West Virginia in their final non-conference match of the season on Tuesday, facing a challenge in Morgantown.
  • Last Saturday, AU earned a resounding win over Lehigh 3-1. The Eagles used three second half goals to knock the Mountain Hawks out of first place, with Mustapha Sowe, Taku Takahashi, and Kobe Keomany all finding twine.
  • Tibbets made five saves in the match, including two challenging stops in the first half to keep the score level.
  • American has upped its level since the opening of Patriot League play, winning five of eight matches and falling only to Lafayette in-conference. The Eagles have scored nine goals in the eight-game stretch, and have conceded just six. Prior to this run, American had scored just five goals in five matches and conceded nine.
  • The senior midfielder Garces has been a major part of AU's attacking improvement, registering seven points in the last eight contests on two goals and three assists. He's coming off his first two-assist game against Lehigh last week.
  • Sowe's goal last Saturday was his third of the season, tying him for the team lead with Elgersma.
  • The Eagles are at their best at home, holding an undefeated 4-0-1 record at Reeves Field.
What to Know About Boston: 8-4 (4-1)
  • BU is coming off a 3-2 loss to Northeastern in non-conference play on Tuesday night, conceding two goals in the final five minutes to drop the match.
  • The Terriers topped Colgate 1-0 at home for its fourth straight PL victory last Friday. A goal from senior Ethan Gill broke the deadlock in the 73rd minute, and Sheraz Saadat made five saves for the Terriers.
  • BU's only PL loss came at the hands of Army 1-0 back in September, while the Terriers' most significant victory came over Bucknell 3-2 while the Bison were ranked #24 in the country. In Monday's NCAA poll, BU received nine votes to get in the top 25.
  • The Terriers have proven to be one of the PL's best attacking teams, tied with Bucknell at the top of the conference in goals with 24.
  • Sophomore midfielder Pharis Petrica leads the way for BU, with 13 points to his name on three goals and a PL-leading seven assists. He's registered a point in each of the last five matches.
  • Gill and Andrea Di Blasio top the team in goals with four apiece, each adding an assist as well.
  • While BU's attacking play is impressive, the Terriers have a tendency to leak goals. They concede 1.42 per game on average, which is eighth in the PL, and they've given up two or more goals five times this season.
