- The goal by Lambert was the first of her career, and was assisted by sophomore Maddie Hurowitz for her first point of the season as well.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Addison Roemer made eight saves while playing the full 90 minutes.
- Total shots favored Colgate 22-4, and the Raiders took 11 corner kicks to American's one.
How it Happened
- Hurowitz had AU's first chance of the game in the third minute, but the shot went high.
- Roemer's first big save saw her punch the ball up and over the crossbar with 10:30 left in the first half. She made another save inside the final minute, diving to her right to send the ball out.
- In all, Roemer made four first-half saves, while no shots were marked on the stat sheet for AU.
- Just 45 seconds into the second half, Colgate's Lydia Thornton crossed to Ellie Stokes who sent it back across to the lower right corner out of reach of Roemer.
- The Eagles first shot on goal in the game came from junior Bella Miller in the 48th minute, but it was saved by Colgate's Ella Poppinga.
- Grad student Jennifer McGuire had a chance on a free kick in the 67th minute, but her shot was off target.
- In the 70th minute, Hurowitz drove down to the baseline and sent a crossing pass that deflected off the hands of Poppinga and was put in the net by Lambert who was in perfect position to score.
- The 1-1 score lasted nearly to the end of the game, with Roemer making another diving save in the 86th minute.
- Ana Schremp had the assist on the game-winner for Colgate in the 88th minute, sending a long pass to Thornton who beat Roemer in the right corner with a shot to the lower left.
