BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Freshman Cecilia Kay of American University women's basketball has been named the Patriot League's Rookie of the Week. This is her second time receiving the honor, awarded for averaging a double-double over a pair of games last week that the squad played this past week.
 
Kay scored a career-high 22 points for the Eagles against Boston University, hitting 7-of-10 free throws, blocking three shots, and pulling down nine boards, one shy of her third double-double. A few days later, Kay posted 16 points and a season-high 15 rebounds at Bucknell, nabbing that third double-double of the year and second in league play. She hit 43 percent from the field for the week, 80 percent at the charity stripe, and made a pair of three-pointers.
 
The Eagles' next time on the court will is Monday night against Loyola Maryland in Baltimore, in Reitz Arena on with first tip schedule for 4 p.m. EST and airing nationally on CBS Sports Network.
