WASHINGTON - For her efforts in helping lead American University volleyball to a sweep of two Patriot League opponents, senior middle blocker Lilou Stegeman has been named the Gregorio's Trattoria Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Sept. 16-22. Stegeman and the Eagles are 12-2 overall, and 2-0 in PL action.

Stegeman hit nearly 54 percent (.538) for the Eagles in straight-set sweeps at Loyola Maryland and Navy. She averaged 1.17 blocks per set, totaling seven blocks including two solo blocks. In the win at Navy, Stegeman hit .643 with nine kills on 14 attempts and zero errors. She currently leads the Patriot League with a hitting percentage of .372 for the season.

The Eagles will next face three-time defending PL champ Colgate, heading to Hamilton, N.Y. to take on the Raiders at 6 pm on Friday, Sept. 27.
