WASHINGTON - After scoring two bonus-point victories for American University wrestling in a pair of wins for the Eagles against Queens and Lindenwood, redshirt freshman Liam Volk-Klos has been named the Gregorio's Trattoria Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of February 12-18.

Volk-Klos posted three takedowns in a major-decision win over Riley Kuhn of Queens, with the third coming late in the final period and pushing him past the eight-point margin to finish with an 11-2 victory. Volk-Klos later capped the day with a pin against Ryan Golnick of Lindenwood, wasting little time as he earned his fourth fall of the season in one minute and 23 seconds. He now has seven career pins and has won three straight bouts.

The final two duals of the season for American will be in New York as the Eagles travel to Columbia (noon) and Army West Point (5 p.m.) on Sunday, Feb. 25.
