WASHINGTON – The American University women's basketball team starts a two-game away stint with a trip to Lafayette on Saturday. The Eagles and the Leopards with battle it out with tipoff scheduled for 2 pm EST; Lafayette will be looking to sweep the series while the Eagles will fight for a series split.

INSIDE THE SERIES
- In the overall series, American leads the Leopards by 46-11, having dropped the first meeting at home in Bender two weeks prior by a score of 55-60.
- In Kirby, the Eagles lead their hosts by a record of 17-8 but most recently fell 57-59 in a tight matchup in the series finale of the 2022-23 season.
- In their first meeting in Bender in January, Ivy Bales led the Eagles with 13 points, going 5-for-7 from the floor and defensively contributing eight rebounds and two steals.
- Both Anna LeMaster and Lauren Stack hit the double-double mark in the contest. The matched each other, putting up 12 points and grabbing 10 rebounds, leading the squad on the boards. For LeMaster it was the first double-double of her career.

- In a whiplash five days, American was coming off a 74-68 win over League-leading Holy Cross before falling to eighth place Navy 55-69 on Wednesday evening. The Eagles remain tied for second, now with Loyola and Army.
- Anna LeMaster recorded her second career double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds, leading the team in both categories. Ivy Bales had a team high six assists. She also added eight points and three steals.
- For the season, Bales leads the Eagles on the glass, averaging 5.0 rpg and leads the team with 49 steals. She sits at third in the league, averaging 2.1 per game. Bales is also tied with Bailey Garbee for 8 blocks on the season.
- Against the Mids, American struggled with ball control, getting outscored 23-7 in points off turnovers.
- Offensively, forward Emily Johns leads American with 11.8 points per game. The senior forward .482 field goal percentage, followed by Bales averaging 9.2 ppg and .473 field goal percentage.
WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT LAFAYETTE
- The Leopards are 8-15 overall and 3-9 in conference play. They've got a series sweep over Army and a win over American earlier in the season. Most recently, they're on a two-game losing streak with a narrow two-point loss to Lehigh and a 25-point loss to Loyola Md. on Wednesday evening.
- In the away contest against Loyola, backcourt partners Abby Antognoli and Makayla Andrews led the offensive charge. Antognoli has 12 points while Andrews had 10. Kayla Drummond followed close behind with nine points.
- Antognoli is having a strong junior campaign, leading the team in scoring with 13.1 points per game on average. The guard has surpassed last season's scoring leader Andrews who's averaging 12.5 ppg.
- Antognoli ranks seventh in the league in scoring and has a team-leading 34 steals on the season and Andrews is 11th.
- On the glass, Lafayette is being led by Drummond, posting an average of 6.5 rpg, putting her at sixth overall in the league. Drummond also leads the team with 19 blocks.
