WASHINGTON - After scoring six points for American University wrestling thanks to his fifth pin of the season, junior Raymond Lopez has been named the Gregorio's Trattoria Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Dec. 9-15. Lopez helped the Eagles win their fourth straight dual, 25-9 at Davidson College.

In the second bout of the dual at 133 pounds, Lopez came out strong and wasted no time in pinning his opponent, Enis Ljikovic, in just 16 seconds. It was his fifth win by fall in seven victories this season, as he improved to 7-1 overall. Lopez now ranks in a tie for 16th all-time at American with 11 career pins.

The Eagles will be on the road again next weekend in their first EIWA match of the year as they head to Navy for a 2 p.m. dual on Saturday, Dec. 21.
