Gray Miller of Men's Swim & Dive Named Gregorio's Trattoria Student-Athlete of the Week

WASHINGTON - For his outstanding diving performances in a dual meet against Howard for American University men's swimming & diving, freshman Gray Miller has been named the Gregorio's Trattoria Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Oct. 28-Nov. 3.

Miller posted a personal-best score of 290.47 to win the 3-meter diving event, placing fifth all-time on AU's top 16 list of personal bests and ranking as the best score for any diver of coach John Barry's 20-year era at American. On the 1-meter, Miller placed second with a score of 258.67, also a new PR that moved him up to sixth all-time on AU's list. Miller's points scored were crucial in helping the men's team beat Howard for the first time in eight years, by just an eight-point margin of 125.5 to 117.5.

The Eagles will be back in the pool at Bucknell next Saturday, Nov. 9, facing the host Bison along with Navy and Lafayette in a quad meet at noon.
