WASHINGTON - For helping American University wrestling dominate in two dual meets, redshirt senior Jack Nies has been named the Gregorio's Trattoria Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of November 18-24. Nies and the Eagles rolled over two opponents in North Carolina, beating Duke 33-6 and Presbyterian 43-6.

Nies put together three takedowns and eight near fall points to beat Duke's Logan Fite by 18-1 technical fall at 157 pounds. He later dominated again with a 14-3 major decision against Jamison Colongione of Presbyterian. Nies improved to 3-2 for the season, and the tech fall was the first of his collegiate career.

AU will be back in action at home on December 6, taking on Buffalo in a dual meet at 1 p.m.
