WASHINGTON - For his high-scoring efforts in two games for American University men's basketball, grad student
Matt Rogers has been named the Gregorio's Trattoria Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of November 11-17. Rogers averaged over 20 points per game for the Eagles.
In a loss at Siena on Nov. 12, Rogers exploded for a game-high 26 points on 11-of-22 shooting from the field, including 3-of-4 three pointers. Later in the week, he led AU in scoring and rebounding at #10/11 North Carolina with 15 points and seven boards. He grabbed one steal in each game, and hit 4-of-6 free throws for the week.
The Eagles are still in North Carolina and will face High Point at 7 p.m. on Monday night.
