WASHINGTON – In the final regular season home game of 2024, the American University men's soccer team will host Holy Cross at the Maryland SoccerPlex at 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1. The Eagles are currently third in the Patriot League with 11 points, while Holy Cross is in a five-way tie for fourth with 10 points in a very tight race. Both teams will play one more regular season game after Friday.

The Eagles' second goal came in the 58th minute, with Dilane Zouantcha intercepting a ball and volleying it up to Ethan Boyle, who beat his defender and rifled a shot into the back of the net.
- Junior midfielder Troy Elgersma was awarded Patriot League Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors for his three assists in games against Lafayette and Virginia. Elgersma is currently second in the Patriot League for assists with five on the season.
- Junior goalkeeper Matthew Tibbetts is second in the Patriot League for shutouts with four. Tibbetts is also second in the league for saves with 61.
- The Eagles are second in the Patriot League for goals, with 18 goals in 15 games.
WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT HOLY CROSS
- Holy Cross enters the game off of a 1-0 victory over Army West Point. The Crusaders are looking to add to their two-game winning streak after victories over Navy and Army West Point last week.
- In the match against Army West Point, senior forward Evan Jones scored the only goal in the 22nd minute.
- Senior goalkeeper Tristan Stephani recorded his second straight shutout this season and the sixth of his career.
- Despite having the advantage in shots 13-7, Army was unable to score on any of them, with Stephani making three saves on the night. Stephani was also awarded Patriot League Men's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week honors this week.
- Senior goalkeeper Josh Tubbs leads the Patriot League in saves with 40. Tubbs is also second in the league in goals against, letting in only 10 goals this season.
- Freshman midfielder Thomas Mancuso earned both Patriot League Men's Soccer Midfielder and Rookie of the Week honors this week.
- Senior forward Evan Jones leads the Patriot League in goals with six on the season.
