WASHINGTON - Leading American University volleyball to a pair of dramatic wins, senior setter Esma Sipahi posted two double-doubles for the Eagles and has been named the Gregorio's Trattoria Student-Athlete of the Week for her efforts. AU earned a four-set win at Lehigh and another one at home against Army.

Sipahi averaged 11.38 assists per set along with 3.13 digs per set. She came within three kills of a triple-double against Army, posting 46 assists, 14 digs and seven kills while hitting .353 for the match. She also had a double-double at Lehigh with 45 assists and 11 digs. In the victory at Lehigh, Sipahi recorded three kills on seven attempts with zero errors for a hitting percentage of .429.

The Eagles will play just one match this week, heading to Army for a 6 p.m. contest on Saturday, Oct. 19.
