WASHINGTON - Two fantastic performances were posted by American University women's basketball senior guard Ivy Bales in a 1-1 week for the Eagles, earning Bales the honor of Gregorio's Trattoria Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of January 15-21. Bales averaged 20.5 points, seven rebounds, 4.5 steals, and four assists per game while shooting 59.3 percent (16-of-27) from the field.

Nine seconds remained in the Eagles' 59-55 victory over Lehigh when Bales hit a jumper as the dagger in a 14-3 run to give AU the lead for good. She finished with 15 points in that one while also adding six rebounds and four steals.  Earlier in the week, Bales scored a career-high 26 points in a loss vs. Loyola Maryland, hitting 10-of-14 shots from the field. She also led the team with eight rebounds, six assists, and five steals.
