WASHINGTON – American University women's soccer's defense held strong for most of the first half, but it could not hold the Auburn University Tigers for all 90 minutes as the Eagles fell Sunday to the Tigers, 3-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Eagles' first chance of the game came early, in the 3^rd minute of action, off a shot from senior Izzy Kadzban. Her shot was stopped by Auburn's goalkeeper to keep the game scoreless.
• Auburn had a chance to take the lead in the 34^th minute but the home team's shot went wide to keep the game scoreless.
• The Tigers found the back of the net in the 38^th minute to take the lead and then again in the 44^th minute to take a 2-0 lead heading into halftime.
• Auburn pushed the lead out to three in the 74^th minute.
• The Eagles made one last attempt to score off a shot from junior Giuliana Capraro in the final minutes, but her shot was blocked.

• Kato, Capraro, and junior Amélie Kovacevic played all 90 minutes.
