Men’s Soccer Set to Host Boston U. Saturday, Game Moved to George Washington Due to Tropical Storm

WASHINGTON – American University men's soccer returns to The District for the first time since early September on Saturday, welcoming the Boston University Terriers for a Patriot League matchup. Saturday's game, originally schedule for a 1 p.m. start at Reeves Field, has been moved to a 10:30 a.m. start at George Washington University due to the tropical storm that is moving through the area this weekend.

  • Boyle has now scored three goals in the last two games. He netted his first of the season in the Eagles' Patriot League opener at Holy Cross and then went on to net two more in the Eagles' win at UMBC. His multi-goal game on Tuesday was his second multi-goal game of his career.

  • Boston U. enters Saturday's game with a 4-2-1 overall record and a 1-0 mark in Patriot League play.
  • The Terriers are coming off a 2-2 tie with Boston College on Tuesday. Senior Andrew Rent and graduate student Quinn Matulis netted the Terriers' goals.
  • Matulis leads Boston U. in goals with three. Six Terriers have each recorded an assist so far this season.
  • Boston U. started Patriot League play with a 2-0 win over Lehigh last Saturday to extend its unbeaten streak at Nickerson Field to seven contests.
  •  The Terriers are led by head coach Kevin Nylen in his fourth season at the head of the program. He is joined on the sidelines by assistant coaches Patrick Lopez and Matthew Whittley.
