WASHINGTON - After scoring two goals in a 4-1 win at Temple for American University men's soccer, junior forward
Zemi Rodriguez has been named the Gregorio's Trattoria Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Sept. 4-10. The victory was the first of the season for men's soccer, and its first against Temple since 1977.
For Rodriguez, the two-goal effort was the first multi-goal game of his career. His first goal against the Owls came in the 17th minute to put AU up 2-0, and that would prove to be the game-winner. With the Eagles leading 3-0 in the second half, Rodriguez added an insurance goal in the 64th minute.
The Eagles will take a short break before returning to action on Saturday, Sept. 16 for the start of Patriot League play. The Eagles will open league action at Holy Cross.
