Women's Soccer Welcomes Longwood to Reeves Tuesday Afternoon

WASHINGTON – American University women's soccer welcomes the Longwood Lancers to Reeves Field for a Tuesday afternoon matchup at 2 p.m. The Eagles are in search of their first win of the season.

  • Head Coach Marsha Harper enters her fourth season at the head of the program. She is joined once again on the sidelines by assistant coaches Katie Greenberg and Matt Freibaum.
  • Junior Julia Kato, junior Jordan Mahony, and Kadzban have all been named captains for the 2023 season.
  • The squad welcomes nine new faces to the roster this season, including seven freshmen and transfers Jennifer McGuire and Veronica Roach.
WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT LONGWOOD
  • Longwood enters Tuesday's game coming off a 0-0 draw with Elon.
  • The Lancers' one win of the season so far has come over UMBC, 1-0. The goal was scored by freshman Peyton Curney.  She was named the Big South Co-Freshman of the Week for her efforts.
  • The Lancers return their assists leader from the 2022 season, Alex Dinger. Dinger recorded three assists in her junior campaign last season.
  • Longwood welcomes five freshmen to its 2023 squad hailing from Maryland, Virginia, Arizona, Alabama, and Pennsylvania. The squad also welcomes transfers Madison Fizpatrick and Holly Moore
  • The Lancers are led by Head Coach Todd Dyer in his 30th season at the head of the program. He is joined by Associate Head Coach Rich Stoneman in his 11th season on the sidelines.
