Men’s Basketball Heads to Bucknell Monday; Game to be Broadcast on CBS Sports Network

WASHINGTON – American University men's basketball (15-10, 7-7 PL) looks to snap its two-game skid at Bucknell on Monday, Feb. 13 at the Eagles take on the Bison (10-17, 3-11 PL) at 7 p.m. on CBS Sports. American is coming off a loss to Holy Cross while the Bison are coming off a loss to Colgate. Bucknell won the first matchup of the season, 78-71, in Bender Arena.

  • The Eagles are coming off a 74-66 loss to Holy Cross on Saturday for their second-straight loss. A trio of Eagles scored in double figures, led by junior Colin Smalls with 16 and followed behind with junior Johnny O'Neil with 11 points and junior Matt Rogers with 12.
  • American is led by a trio of double-digit scorers. Rogers leads the way with 12.8 points per game and is followed by O'Neil with 10.5 points per game and Smalls with 10.2 points per game.
  • O'Neil leads the Patriot League in blocks (1.6 per game). In the Eagles' game on Saturday, the junior moved his season block total to 37, moving into sole possession of 10th all-time on AU's single season blocks list

  • Bucknell enters Monday's game with a 3-11 mark in Patriot League play. 
  • The Bison are coming off a 76-56 loss to league-leading Colgate on Saturday. Junior Andre Screen led Bucknell with 10 points, six rebounds, and four blocks.
  • Senior Xander Rice leads the Bison in scoring with 14.4 points per game, assists with 3.7 per game and steals with 1.1 per game. Rice is tied for fifth in the league in scoring.
  • The Bison are tied for third in the league in rebounding, averaging 34.3 per game. The Bison are also second in the league in blocked shots, averaging 3.89 per game.
