Men’s Basketball Falls in Tough Road Game at Virginia Tech

BLACKSBURG, Va. – In a difficult road matchup against an ACC opponent, the American University men's basketball team kept things close in the first half before Virginia Tech pulled away in the second half, as AU dropped a 77-55 contest in Blacksburg. The Eagles will look to rebound after a brief holiday break when they travel to UMBC on December 29.

  • In his first career start, sophomore Jermaine Ballisager Webb scored a career-high 15 points to lead the Eagles in scoring, adding a team-leading six rebounds, as well.
  • Freshman Matt Mayock knocked in all three of his three-point attempts to reach his nine total points.
  • Elijah Stephens and Colin Smalls led the Eagles with three assists, each.
