WASHINGTON – Coming off a buzzer-beater win on Wednesday over Army, American University men's basketball (13-7, 5-4 PL) looks to keep its momentum going as the Eagles travel to Navy (11-10, 4-5 PL) on Saturday, Jan. 28 for a 2 p.m. game against the Midshipmen. The meeting is the first of the season between the two teams as the Eagles search for their first win over the Midshipmen since 2020.

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT AMERICAN
- American enters Saturday's game with a 5-4 mark in Patriot League play. The Eagles are coming off a big 63-61 win over Army West Point in Bender Arena on Wednesday night. Junior Colin Smalls led the way for American with 13 points and a layup by junior Johnny O'Neil at the buzzer handed American the win that snapped a four-game skid.
- O'Neil and junior Matt Rogers lead the Eagles in scoring, both averaging in double figures. Rogers leads the way with 12.8 points per game and O'Neil is right behind him with 11.6 per game.
- American leads the league in blocks, averaging 4.1 per game. O'Neil leads the Patriot League with 1.8 blocks per game and is slowly inching his way up in the record books. He is currently 10th all-time in career blocks and needs just three more to tie for 10th all-time for single season blocks.
WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT NAVY
- Navy enters Wednesday's game with a 11-10 overall record and 4-5 mark in Patriot League play. The Midshipmen are coming off a 63-46 win over Bucknell. Senior Sean Yoder led the way for Navy with 17 points for Navy's third win in a row.
- The Midshipmen have three players averaging double figure points so far this season. Senior Tyler Nelson leads the way with 12.3 points per game, followed by senior Daniel Deaver with 11.7 per game and Yoder with 10.5 per game.
- Navy is second in the league in three-point percentage (39.2 percent) and team offensive rebounds (9.9 per game). The Midshipmen have the top two three-point shooters in the league on their roster with sophomore Mac MacDonald leading the way with 52.6 percent and senior Christian Jones behind him shooting 46.6 percent.
- Navy is led by Ed DeChellis in his 12th season at the head of the program.

- For fans looking to attend Saturday's game, must either walk through the gate one visitors center or ride the shuttle bus.
- Shuttle bus service begins one hour prior to the start of the game. It will depart from and return to the parking lot at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.
