WASHINGTON – Coming off its first league loss of the season, American University men's basketball (12-4, 4-1 PL) looks to head back to the win column on Saturday, Jan. 14 as the Eagles travel to Lehigh (8-8, 3-2 PL) for a 2 p.m. game. The Mountain Hawks are coming into Saturday's game riding a three-game win streak and coming off a win over Holy Cross.

• Lehigh leads the all-time series 31-27. The Mountain Hawks also lead the series in Bethlehem, Pa., 20-8. 
• The last meeting between the Eagles and Mountain Hawks was on Feb. 23, 2022. Lehigh won by a 78-61 final. Stacy Beckton Jr. led American with 17 points and six rebounds while Colin Smalls recorded 16 points.
• American's last win at Lehigh was March 5, 2015 in the Patriot League Tournament. The Eagles last win over the Mountain Hawks was on Jan. 27, 2020 in Washington, D.C. 

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT AMERICAN

• American enters Saturday's game with a 12-4 overall record and a 4-1 mark in Patriot League play after starting 4-0 for the first time since the 2013-14 season.
• The Eagles are coming off their first Patriot League loss of the season, falling to Army West Point 72-60. Junior Colin Smalls led the way for American with 13 points while junior Johnny O'Neil pulled down a team leading six boards.
• Junior Johnny O'Neil leads the Patriot League in blocks, averaging 1.8 per game. He is 38th in the nation in blocks per game. Sophomore Elijah Stephens is tied for first in the league in steals, averaging 2.1 steals per game, and is 42^nd in the nation.  
• The Eagles lead the Patriot League in blocks (3.56 per game) and steals (8.2 per game). 
• The Eagles are receiving 28 votes in the College Insider Mid-Major Top 25 poll.

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT LEHIGH

• Lehigh enters Saturday's game with an 8-8 overall record and a 3-2 mark in Patriot League play.  The Mountain Hawks are coming off a 76-58 win over Holy Cross and have won three-game games heading into Saturday's contest.
• Senior Evan Taylor leads Lehigh in scoring (14.6 points per game) and rebounds (5.6 per game). Sophomore Tyler Sidney-Whitney and junior Jalin Sinclair leads Lehigh in assists (2.4 per game), and freshman Henri Adiassa leads the team in blocks (0.6 per game).
•  As a team, the Mountain Hawks are third in the league in scoring (71.7 points per game) and three-point percentage (38.1 percent).
• Taylor and Whitney-Sidney are both in the top-10 in the league in scoring. Taylor's 14.6 points per game puts him fifth in the league while Whitney-Sidney's 13.3 points per game puts him ninth.
• After Saturday's game the Mountain Hawks will travel to Baltimore, Md. for a 7 p.m. Monday game against Loyola Maryland. 

TOP OF THE LEAGUE

• Junior Matt Rogers is seventh in the Patriot League in scoring (13.6 points per game) and third in field goal percentage (62.3 percent). He has now also moved into 10th in the league in blocks (0.7 per game).
• Junior Johnny O'Neil is third in rebounds (6.6 per game) and first in blocks (1.8 per game).
• Sophomore Elijah Stephens is fourth in assists (4.2 per game) and is tied for first in steals (2.2 per game).
