Men’s Basketball Takes Win Streak to Army West Point on Wednesday

WASHINGTON – Coming off its fourth straight league win, American University men's basketball (12-3, 4-0 PL) heads to Army West Point (9-8, 3-1 PL) on Wednesday, Jan. 11, looking to go 5-0 in Patriot League action. The Black Knights are coming off a close 77-75 loss on Monday as the two teams face off in Christl Arena Wednesday night.

  • Junior Jalen Rucker joined the 1,000-point club for the Black Knights in Monday's game, putting in a three-pointer with 52 seconds left in the first half. He is the 10th Army player since 2010-11 to reach the milestone and the 37th Army player all-time to achieve 1,000 career points.
  •  As a team, the Black Knights are second in the league in scoring, averaging 76.2 points per game.
  • After Wednesday's game, the Black Knights are set to travel to Boston, Mass. for a Saturday game against the Boston University Terriers. 
WINNING WAYS
  • The Eagles' 4-0 start in Patriot League play is the first 4-0 start for the program since the 2013-14 season. That season, AU went on to go 20-13 overall and 13-5 in league play, after opening up league play with a 10-game win streak.
