Women’s Soccer Welcomes Lafayette to Reeves Sunday Afternoon

WASHINGTON – American University women's soccer team welcomes the Lafayette College Leopards to Reeves for a Sunday afternoon matchup at 1 p.m. The Eagles are looking for their first Patriot League win of the season.

  • Lafayette enters Sunday's game with a 2-7-1 overall record and an 0-2 mark in Patriot League play.
  • The Leopards are coming off a 2-0 loss to crosstown rival Lehigh.
  • Sara Oswald leads the Leopards in goals with three. April McDonald, Anna Garcia, Katrina Santelli and Gretchen Waechter also all have found the back of the net for the Leopards so far this season.
  • Both goalkeepers Lindsay Dewer and Natalie Neumann have split time between the pipes so far this season. Both have seen playing time in all 10 of Lafayette's games.
  • Lafayette boasts a young roster. Of the 26 student-athletes on the team, 16 are underclassmen.

  • Sunday is the programs free post game kids' clinic for children ages 8th grade and below.
  • The clinic is scheduled to take place from 3:15 p.m. – 3:45 p.m. after the Eagles' 1 p.m. game against Lafayette.

ENHANCED CONCESSIONS FOR WEEKEND HOME GAMES
  • AU Athletics has partnered with Gregorio's Trattoria to provide an enhanced concessions menu for all home weekend men's and women's soccer contests at Reeves this fall.  The gates to Reeves Field, and the Gregorio's grill station will open one hour prior to kickoff at each remaining Saturday and Sunday afternoon home games this fall. 
  • Fans can enjoy Gregorio's favorites from the grill station to the left of the Reeves Field bleachers including menu selections of freshly grilled burgers, Italian sausage and peppers, all-beef hot dogs, and a selection of cold Pepsi and Gatorade beverages.
