WASHINGTON - After a career performance in women's basketball's 62-48 win vs. Lafayette last week, sophomore Emily Johns was named the GEICO Student-Athlete of the Week. She led American with a career-high 19 points in just 22 minutes on the court, including 15 in the second half alone.

The win secured the No. 2 seed for AU in the Patriot League Championships, and the Eagles are hosting Lafayette once again in a quarterfinal game on Monday night. Johns, who hit 8-of-14 from the field vs. Lafayette, also added a block and a steal to her stat line.
