WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT AMERICAN

• American (6-18, 2-10 PL) has lost five straight games with its last win coming against Holy Cross on Wednesday, Jan. 26.
• Last time out, the Eagles fell to Boston University 85-67 on Saturday afternoon. Freshman Elijah Stephens led the Eagles with 15 points on 7-of-10 shooting. Jaxon Knotek went 3-of-5 from beyond the arc en route to 11 points in the loss.
• Stacy Beckton Jr. had two blocks against the Terriers and now has 95 career swats, good for sole possession of seventh place on AU's all-time list. With five more blocks this season, he would become the sixth Eagle to reach 100 career blocks. Beckton also reached the 1,000-point plateau earlier this season and became the 33rd Eagle to reach the milestone.   

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT HOLY CROSS

• Holy Cross (8-16, 6-6 PL) has won five out of its last six games, including victories over Loyola (68-64) and Bucknell (78-72) in its last two contests. The Crusaders have moved all the way up into fourth place in the conference standings.
• Holy Cross currently leads the conference in blocked shots (3.9 blocks per game), while standing fourth in steals (6.4 steals per game) and turnover margin (+0.1 turnovers per game).
• Senior forward Gerrale Gates has led the team by averaging 15.7 points and 8.2 rebounds per game, while hitting 71.0 percent of his foul shots. Freshman guard Kyrell Luc has also been playing well, with averages of 13.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.5 steals per contest. In addition, sophomore guard Bo Montgomery has averaged 8.3 points and 2.4 boards per game.
