Men’s Basketball Overwhelmed by Boston University

BOSTON – American University men's basketball dropped the second game of its three-game road trip to Boston University on Saturday, 85-67.  
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Out of the gate, American hung tough with the veteran Terriers on Boston's Senior Day.
  • AU took a 16-15 lead on a three from Jaxon Knotek with 11:05 remaining in the first half.
  • Over a stretch of 6:13, the Terriers rattled off a 21-4 run to take control of the game and a 42-23 lead with 3:16 to go.
  • Boston went into the locker room with a 48-30 lead.
  • In the second half, the Eagles came out firing, scoring the first five points to force a BU timeout. But AU couldn't get closer than 13 points the rest of the way.
  • Boston led by as many as 25 and ended up winning, 85-67.
BY THE NUMBERS
  • Knotek went 3-of-5 from beyond the arc and finished with 11 points.
  • Stacy Beckton Jr. had two blocks to move into sole possession of 7th on AU's all-time career blocks list with 95.
  • AU had four players in double-figures: Elijah Stephens (15), Beckton Jr. (14), Colin Smalls (11), and Knotek (11).
