INSIDE THE SERIES
  • Lafayette topped American 69-56 when these two teams met nine days ago in Bender Arena.
  • The Leopards have won eight of the last nine meetings between the programs.
WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT AMERICAN
  • American dropped a low-scoring affair on Saturday against Navy, 47-45. Stacy Beckton Jr. led the Eagles with 19 points and became the 33rd member of AU's 1,000-point club.
  • Beckton Jr. has now played in 106 career games and currently has 92 career blocks, which ranks eighth in program history. He is two swats away from moving into seventh place on AU's all-time career blocks list and eight away from being the sixth Eagle with 100 career blocks.
  • Since stepping into the starting lineup in late November, Matt Rogers has been up to the task. He leads the conference and currently ranks second in program history by shooting 63.7 percent from the field this season. The 6-9 sophomore averages 9.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game.
  • Elijah Stephens has continued to improve as his rookie campaign rolls along. Since Patriot League play began, he has been dishing dimes at a solid pace. He's had at least four assists in each of the past five games. He's averaging 8.6 points per game on 53.2 percent shooting during conference play.
  • Due to some games being rescheduled, American is in the middle of a tough road stretch. Beginning with the Navy game, AU will play five out of six games on the road. The Eagles are looking for their first road win in Patriot League play, so the next two weeks will be crucial for Patriot League Tournament seeding.
WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT LAFAYETTE
  • Since controlling American in a 69-56 road victory on Jan. 24, the Leopards have lost three straight conference games and currently sit at 5-14 (2-6 PL).
  • Lafayette dropped a 72-61 loss to Colgate on Monday to open a three-game homestand. Neil Quinn finished the night with a near triple-double (15 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists).
  • Quinn has scored in double-figures in 13 straight games. The senior averages 13.4 points per game, 8.1 rebounds per game (3rd in PL), 4.1 assists per game (2nd in PL), and 1.4 blocks per game (2nd in PL).
  • Other Leopards averaging double-figures include Tyrone Perry (11.6 ppg), Kyle Jenkins (11.0 ppg), and Leo O'Boyle (10.5 ppg). Lafayette ranks second in the conference by draining 8.9 three-point field goals per game, led by O'Boyle (35.8 percent from beyond the arc) and Perry (36.2 percent).
