WASHINGTON – The American University women's basketball team (0-7) is traveling up to Villanova, Pa. to face off with the No. 25 Wildcats of Villanova (7-2). The Eagles are facing off against their second Big East opponent of the season, having opened the 2022-23 campaign against DePaul in Chicago. Villanova have only played one home game so far, losing against No. 13 Creighton.

- While the Eagles fell in their most recent game to George Mason, senior Lauren Stack led the team in scoring with a 16-point performance, going 7-10 from the floor. She also had a season-high seven and had two assists.
- Freshman Molly Lavin made an impact in the game against Mason. The forward had nine points, going 4-7 from the floor and had two rebounds as well.
- Junior guard Riley DeRubbo is heating up this season. She went 3-8 from behind the arc and is averaging 8.1 ppg, as well at 2.3 rebounds per game. Against Mason she also had two steals and an assist while going 2-4 from the free throw line.
- This will be the third game for the Eagles since returning from the Bahamas. American participated in the Goombay Splash and took on No. 7 Notre Dame and Arizona State while in attendance. Junior Emily Johns was named to the All-Tournament team at the conclusion of the tournament.
- The Eagles are still on the hunt for their first win of the season. After fierce opponents in the Bahamas and crosstown clashes against Virginia, Howard, and George Mason, the Eagles are looking to capitalize on their road trip to Villanova this weekend against the Wildcats.

- Villanova have only played one home game this season, playing five away and three matchups at neutral sites. The Wildcats are 5-0 away and 2-1 at neutral sites, showing their mental toughness in a heavy travel schedule early in the season.
